The one-legged, one-eyed, one-armed admiral who never lost a battle. โ๐ This distinguished bust captures Blas de Lezo y Olavarrieta (1689โ1741) โ the legendary Spanish naval commander whose extraordinary courage and tactical brilliance made him one of the greatest sailors in Spanish history . Known as "Patron" (the patron saint of the Spanish Navy), he served in numerous naval engagements across the Atlantic and Mediterranean, losing his left leg, left eye, and right arm in battle yet never losing a single major engagement . His greatest triumph came at the Siege of Cartagena de Indias in 1741, where he successfully defended the city against a massive British fleet of over 180 ships and 27,000 men, commanded by Admiral Edward Vernon . Perfect for home offices, studies, naval history collections, and lovers of Spanish maritime heritage.

Blas de Lezo was born on 3 February 1689 in Pasajes, Guipรบzcoa, in the Basque Country of Spain . He joined the French Navy at age 12 and later transferred to the Spanish Navy, where he rose through the ranks and became known as one of the most formidable commanders of his era. His nickname "Patron" was a tribute to his character and strategic skill, and his admirers called him "the half-man" in recognition of his many wounds .
